November TWA Meeting

Topics Sharpening

Presenter: Jim Wallace

Jim Wallace has been a professional woodturner and woodworker for more than 50 years. After graduating from the University of South Carolina with a degree in French Literature, he studied woodturning with Rude Osolnik, Dale Nish and Peter Child. Since 1981, he has taught woodturning at Alamance Community College, and has taught woodturning classes and sharpening workshops at the NCSU Craft Center. His work has been included in American Craft Magazine, and in exhibitions at the NC Museum of Art, NC Museum of History and at the Cary Arts Center. He built a timber frame house and wood studio in Wake Forest, where he continues to live and work. During the November meeting, Jim will discuss sharpening methods for the hand tools in your shop. Come with your questions and look forward to learning about more effective ways to sharpen tools.
